The best part of being a designer is feeling like you’re the only one… I mean, when you consider yourself the only successful designer and everyone else is just a wannabe. And when you see a creative genius, their success must be due to their long years in the field, all the perfect conditions aligning for them, a bit of luck, and so on. The important thing is, if you had the same advantages, you’d be one of the top designers too—perhaps even the best! Let’s talk about some of the excuses we often hear from these wannabe designers.
Creatives Are Born, Not Made
That means the creative designer was born with a Photoshop CS5 in their mouth. This person never had to work hard or improve themselves. They’re lazy, don’t know what problems are, and have never made a mistake in their life. They were a successful designer from the moment they entered this world and will remain so until the end.
It’s Simple… They Have Creative Rituals
Creativity needs perfect conditions, and our creative friend has them all. The morning coffee that stays hot all day, a perfectly organized workspace, a room full of natural light, and the peaceful sounds of birds—everything is always just right. This person lives without any problems, so of course, creativity comes naturally to them.
They’re Partners with Amazon
The creative designer owns every design book out there. They’re partners with the biggest book sites like Amazon, and sometimes they even sell books to them. They have a massive library covering all aspects of design, and just having access to a part of it automatically makes you a creative genius too.
They Have Secret Tools
Some famous filter companies sell exclusive filters only to creative designers, probably as gifts. Plus, they have secret tools that make designs successful. And don’t forget about the special creative tools hidden behind the walls.
Our Creative Friend Owns an iMac
The iMac from Apple has superpowers. When you install Photoshop on it, it automatically designs brochures just by you explaining the concept to it verbally. Didn’t they say Apple is for creatives and designers?
Creatives Charge High Rates Even Though They’re Wealthy
Creatives are naturally rich; they don’t need to work. Yet, they still charge high, unreasonable rates. Plus, they don’t work much—just a few hours a day. So why do they ask for such prices?
Hosting Companies Give Free Space to Creatives
Hosting companies and domain sites offer their services for free and work around the clock, just because you’re creative. So getting your work known and spread is easy. Clients only deal with those who have websites and who flaunt their work on it, seeking admiration and demanding outrageous prices.
Our Artistic Friend Is Eccentric
The creative designer is eccentric, someone regular folks can’t deal with. They’re moody, irritable, and arrogant. They don’t tolerate price discussions or anyone giving feedback on their work, especially not a client. That’s just how they are… they design, get paid, and there’s no need for any conversation or negotiation.
