On the Passing of Steve Jobs: A Lesson in Creativity and Perseverance

Learn from him, from his experiences, and from his unwavering belief in what he was doing. Draw inspiration from his bright outlook on the future, his ability to leave the past behind, and his focus on creativity. Reflect on his words, remember his steps, and revisit his actions.

Think about everything he created and how much of what you use today is because of him. Steve Jobs was the one who believed in the idea of the personal computer, an idea many dismissed, and he’s the one who forever changed the future of mobile phones.

Don’t tell me he was a monopolist, don’t bring up his religion, don’t ask about his father, and don’t focus on his mistakes. That’s not what I need right now. What I need is for you to remind me of what he created, what he achieved, because I need those words to keep going, just as you do.

Repeat his name over and over, and recall how he spent sleepless nights, for you and for me. Tell me how he was ousted from his dream, only to come back stronger than ever. Don’t focus on the small details and forget the great achievements. Remember, he was the head of the world’s leading creative company, and even if we don’t own all its products, we stand in awe of its innovation every single time.

Jobs was obsessed with details, a lover of technology, and a passionate creator. Learn how to become like him, loving what you do, passionate about your dream, believing in the details of your life, and content with what fate has written for you.

I’ll tell you something else too…

I’ll tell you about his love for his employees and those who worked with him, about the daily inspiration he provided. Let me share with you his passion for integration, precision, and belief in the dream. And yes, let me tell you about his love for his competitors and the advice he offered them.

Let me give you some advice…

Focus on great people like him, take what benefits you, and leave the trivialities behind. Pay attention to your future, and remember that you use their products every moment—they are your present and your future. I will remind you of everything creative related to him and other geniuses so that you, in turn, can remind me. Perhaps we can help produce a generation that follows in their footsteps and becomes like them.

And I’ll end my words by asking you to think as he told you to think, “Think Different.” Better yet, rethink, and think again…
